Rashes can result from infections, allergies, or irritation of the skin by chemicals or other environmental factors. Rashes can also result from scratching or rubbing the skin too much to relieve itching. Medical examination may be needed to identify the specific cause and proper treatment of your skin rash.

You should treat your rash as recommended by your ZoomCare Physician. If you have itching, you should avoid scratching as much as possible, as this further damages the skin. Sometimes Benadryl and steroids are given to help with itching and inflammation.

NOTIFY YOUR PRACTITIONER right away, return to ZoomCare, or go to the Emergency Department immediately in case of the following:

  • If your rash is not better in 2-3 days.
  • If there are signs of infection (increased pain, redness, drainage or pus).
  • If fevers occur
  • If there is worsening of your condition or your general health
